  • Hypertension is defined as persistent elevation of systolic BP of >140 mmHg and/or diastolic BP of >90 mmHg.1
  • More than 1 in 3 of Malaysian adults (>18 years) are living with hypertension.1
  • Despite being on treatment, only 37.4% of Malaysian patients have their blood pressure under control (<140/90 mmHg).1
  • Hypertension is the major risk factor for atherosclerosis, and it is the most frequent underlying cause of heart failure.1
